Children from kindergarten to third grade are encouraged to write and illustrate their own
stories and enter them in the Fourteenth Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and
Illustrators Contest. These stories will be judged locally and the winners
submitted to the national contest.

Reading Rainbow Workhops:
The Reading Rainbow Writing Workshops are free and open to the public. They are designed to
engage children in Kindergarten to Third Grade to enter this year's Reading Rainbow Young Writers and
Illustrators Contest.
Come and get advice on writing and drawing a story book, meet a notable children's book
author/illustrator, who will be on hand to inspire young writers who want to share and illustrate a story -then
send it in for a chance to win some great prizes. All entries will receive a Certificate of Achievement from
KNME and PBS Reading Rainbow!
